Epic progress

Issues by status, with the remaining estimate

  • PLAT-22Redesign API3d 6h
  • PLAT-51Faster checkout3d
  • PLAT-64Simpler export1d 6h
  • MOB-116New mobile app7h
  • Total1w 4d
Stories and sub-tasks add up into their epics. Each number opens the issues behind it.

Everything you'd build in a spreadsheet, kept up to date

Pick the issues, choose what to group by and what to show. The report fills in as Jira answers, and changes as soon as you do.

Roll up the hierarchy

Sub-tasks add up into stories, stories into epics, and epics into initiatives or themes through issue links. Parents are never counted twice.

Group by anything

Assignee, sprint, team, status, components, labels, any custom field, and dates by week, month or quarter. Up to four levels of rows and two of columns.

Time, not just counts

Estimates and remaining work, time logged by person and week, time in status in working hours, and Jira Service Management SLAs. Add your own formulas, percentages and running totals.

See how it changes

Turn on a daily history and any number becomes a trend. Compare two dates side by side, and open big reports straight from history.

Share it where people look

Keep a report private, share it with people or groups, or with everyone on the site. Put it on a dashboard or a board, link to it, or export to Excel, CSV or PNG.

Made for admins too

Jira admins see every report, reassign them when people leave, set the working hours, and decide who may export.

Your first report in two minutes

  1. Pick the issues

A JQL query, a saved filter, a board, a project or a list of keys. Add their child issues if you like.

  2. Group and show

Drag fields into rows and columns, then choose what to show: counts, sums, time in status, time logged. Or start from a ready-made report: epic progress, time logged by person, time in status, sprint capacity.

  3. Keep a history

Turn on daily history to compare over time. Each day's totals are kept for 90 days.

  4. Share it

With your team, your manager or the whole site, on a dashboard or a board.

Your data stays in Jira

  • Runs on Atlassian's Forge platform, with no outside servers. What the app stores is kept by Atlassian for your site, in your site's data residency location.
  • Live reports run as the person looking, so Jira's own permissions decide which issues they see.
  • History is filtered for each person: they only see projects they can see in full, and issues with a security level are never stored.
  • Read-only: the app never changes your issues. Uninstalling it, or our retiring it, deletes only its own reports and history: your issues stay in Jira as they are.

Questions

Does my data leave Jira?

No. Roll-up Reports runs on Atlassian's Forge platform and calls nothing outside Atlassian. Live reports are worked out in your browser and aren't stored. Saved reports and their history are stored by Atlassian for your site.

Who can see a report?

Reports are private until you share them. Even then, everyone sees only the issues Jira lets them see. History shows a person only the projects they can see in full.

How big can a report be?

Up to 50,000 issues on a paid plan, and 5,000 on the free plan. Larger sources ask you to narrow them down.

What happens if our subscription ends?

The site moves to the free plan while the app stays installed: live reports keep working, history stops updating, and nothing is deleted. Atlassian may later suspend or remove an app whose subscription has ended, and removing it deletes its reports and history. Your Jira issues are never touched.

What if Roll-up Reports is ever retired?

We'd tell you at least 90 days ahead, and it keeps working until the end of any period you've paid for. Before it stops, export what you want to keep (Excel, CSV or PNG). When it stops, its reports and history are deleted with it. Your Jira issues stay exactly as they are, because the app only ever reads them. See the terms of use.

Does it work with Jira Service Management?

Yes. Group by request type or organisation, and show SLA times, breaches and how many were met.
